Economic development doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It grows when businesses, nonprofits, civic leaders and community partners have opportunities to meet, share ideas and build relationships.

That’s the idea behind Reignite Rotary, a free regional community event hosted by Rotary District 6960 on Saturday, October 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Commons in Downtown Fort Myers.

Economic Development Through Regional Connections

For Charlotte County businesses and community partners, regional events like Reignite Rotary can open doors beyond county lines.

Southwest Florida’s communities share workforce, customers, suppliers, nonprofit resources and professional networks. Stronger connections across the region can create new partnerships and help organizations discover resources they may not find on their own.

Reignite Rotary is designed to bring those groups together in one place. Businesses, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, civic organizations, Rotarians and residents from across Southwest Florida are invited. Admission is free, and businesses, nonprofits and community organizations may also request free exhibit space while availability remains.

More Than a Networking Event

The morning will include community exhibits, networking and mini learning sessions focused on leadership, artificial intelligence and public speaking. Music, light appetizers and family-friendly Halloween activities are also planned.

That mix matters.

Economic development is about more than buildings, infrastructure and business recruitment. It’s also about the relationships that help businesses grow, connect people with opportunities and strengthen the communities where employees live and work.

For businesses, Reignite Rotary offers a chance to meet nonprofit and civic partners. For nonprofits, it can create new connections with businesses and volunteers. And for community leaders, it offers another way to see what organizations across Southwest Florida are working on and where collaboration may make sense.
