Charlotte County Quality of Life: Inspiring Polio Walk

SWFL Rotary invites families and community members to gather in Punta Gorda on Saturday, October 17, for its Walk for a Cause: Together for a Polio-Free World.
Family activities begin at 8 a.m., and the walk starts at 9 a.m. at Southwest Florida Horse Rescue, Inc., 14811 SR 31. The event announcement lists a photo booth, bubble station, face painting, water station, snacks, and more. givebutter.com
The walk supports Rotary’s global effort to eradicate polio. The World Health Organization reports that wild polio cases have fallen by more than 99 percent since 1988, while Afghanistan and Pakistan remain the two countries where the virus is endemic. www.who.int
