Franklin Water Treatment Opens New Facility in Charlotte County, Florida

Franklin Water Treatment celebrated the opening of its new Charlotte County facility with a ribbon-cutting event attended by local business and government leaders.
Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce CEO Bob White opened the ceremony, welcoming attendees and recognizing the company’s investment in the community. Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce Board President James Coalwell was also present in support of the milestone.
Vice President Pat Miller shared Franklin’s long history dating back to its early work manufacturing pump motor windings in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Over eight decades, the company expanded into complete pump systems used globally — including commercial fuel pumps, residential well pumps, and industrial mining applications — as well as water treatment systems.
Facility Manager Dave Leathers explained that the Charlotte County operation assembles equipment for wholesale channels such as certified plumbers and well drillers, with facility tours offered during the event. He noted the team currently includes about 12 employees and is generating approximately $7 million in annual output, with plans to continue expanding operations.
Kay Tracy, Director of Economic Development for Charlotte County, highlighted the county’s commitment to supporting both new and existing businesses through programs including workforce resources and business retention and expansion efforts. She recognized Franklin Water Treatment’s capital investment and the confidence placed in the community.
Chairman of the Charlotte County Board of Commissioners Joe Tiseo emphasized the facility’s economic significance, noting the company’s 10-year lease commitment, substantial interior improvements, and plans to grow to 30 employees by the end of 2026. He also referenced the company’s strategic role in the region’s growing manufacturing and logistics ecosystem.
The event showcased strong collaboration between Franklin Water Treatment, the Chamber of Commerce, and Charlotte County Economic Development — supporting continued growth, job creation, and long-term community benefits.
