Women in Aviation Open House Showcases Career Pathways
June 15th, 2026

Aviation careers became easier to imagine and easier to explore during the Women in Aviation Open House in Charlotte County.
The event brought together students, veterans, adult career changers, educators, workforce partners, and industry professionals for a closer look at local aviation career pathways. Attendees toured the new Aviation Maintenance Technical School on Challenger Boulevard. Furthermore, they connected directly with mentors who understand the skills, training, and opportunities available in the field.
For Charlotte County, that kind of connection matters.
Aviation is a growing regional sector, and a strong workforce pipeline starts when people can see real careers up close. Events like this help future workers move from curiosity to confidence. They also show students and career changers that aviation is not limited to pilots. The field includes maintenance technicians, mechanics, operations professionals, support teams, and many other high-skill roles.
By opening doors, answering questions, and creating local mentorship opportunities, Women in Aviation SWFL is helping strengthen the talent pipeline. This pipeline supports Charlotte County’s aviation future.
