SWFL Rotary Celebrates 121 Years of Service in Babcock Ranch
SWFL Rotary and SWFL Interact recently hosted a vibrant Coffee & Pastry Social in Babcock Ranch to celebrate the 121st birthday of Rotary International. The event welcomed residents, small business owners, local leaders, and community members for an evening centered on connection and service .
Founded in 1905, Rotary has grown into a global network of 1.4 million members committed to “Service Above Self.” Here in Southwest Florida, that legacy continues through service projects, youth leadership programs, and strong community partnerships .
Local Businesses Take Center Stage
The celebration doubled as the club’s signature Coffee & Pastry Social, spotlighting local entrepreneurs. Featured businesses included:
- Nicolette Gamache, “The Banana Bread Lady”
- Fork In The Road
- Rolando Requeny of Sweet Dreamz Delights
- Publix at Babcock Ranch, which provided the anniversary cake
According to SWFL Rotary Public Image Chair Priya Ahluwalia, the evening reflected “community supporting community” .
SWFL Rotary President Mohit Pohani emphasized that 121 years represents generations choosing service over self-interest and reaffirmed the club’s commitment to modern, high-energy leadership rooted in impact .

Charlotte County School Board Member Kim Amontree also attended, sharing reflections on the pride and engagement she experienced among Babcock Ranch residents .
