Punta Gorda Welcomes Exciting Waterfront Investment
August 11th, 2026
Punta GordaPunta Gorda has a refreshed waterfront dining option at one of Charlotte County’s best-known commercial destinations.
Punta Gorda Welcomes Latitude 26
According to the August 2026 issue of Gulfshore Business, Latitude 26° has opened at Fishermen’s Village following months of renovations to the second-floor space formerly occupied by The Captain’s Table.
The publication’s “Harbor Views, Fresh Flavors” feature describes the new restaurant as a polished coastal dining experience centered on seafood, hand-cut steaks, prime rib, craft cocktails and wine. It also highlights enclosed waterfront dining with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Charlotte Harbor and an outdoor patio extending along the building.
The restaurant’s official website similarly describes Latitude 26° as a modern waterfront restaurant offering coastal seafood, steaks and craft cocktails above the harbor.
Punta Gorda Waterfront Space Gets New Life
The opening also marks the completion of a redevelopment project first reported in 2025.
In August 2025, Gulfshore Business reported that Latitude 26° would replace The Captain’s Table as part of extensive renovations at Fishermen’s Village. The publication identified Kelly Evans Draper as managing partner of Latitude 26° and Castaways and reported that the former restaurant spaces were being renovated for the new concepts.
That makes this more than a restaurant opening. It is also an example of existing commercial space being renovated and returned to active use with a new business concept.
An Established Charlotte Harbor Destination Evolves
Fishermen’s Village remains a prominent waterfront destination for dining, shopping, lodging and recreation in Punta Gorda. The property describes itself as a Southwest Florida destination to “Dine. Stay. Play.” along Charlotte Harbor.
For businesses looking at Charlotte County, projects like this provide a visible example of continued private reinvestment in established commercial destinations.
Conclusion
Latitude 26° brings a new concept to a familiar waterfront location while putting renovated commercial space back into productive use. For Punta Gorda, it is another example of a local destination evolving through private business investment.
