According to WINK News, the Bailey Terminal improvements include six new gates, wider hallways, larger waiting areas, additional restrooms and expanded concessions. The work is part of a larger effort to modernize the terminal as passenger use continues to rise.

For passengers, the upgrades should create a smoother experience from security to boarding. More seating and wider walkways can ease congestion during busy travel periods. Additional restrooms and concessions will also give travelers more options while they wait for a flight.

More Space for a Growing Airport

The terminal project responds to rising demand at PGD. Punta Gorda Airport served a record 2,282,002 passengers in 2025, an 18.5% increase from 2024, according to the airport.

The larger terminal will help PGD serve that growth while retaining the convenience travelers value in a smaller airport. Construction will continue in phases, so passengers should follow airport signage and allow extra time before departure.
