Building the Healthcare Workforce Starts with Strong Partners
October 5th, 2026

A strong healthcare community depends on having skilled professionals ready to step into the jobs that keep our region healthy. Building a robust healthcare workforce pipeline ensures there will be enough qualified individuals to meet these demands now and in the future.
That is why workforce partners like Florida SouthWestern State College matter so much.
FSW continues to grow programs that prepare students for in-demand healthcare careers across Southwest Florida. This fall, the college’s School of Nursing surpassed 1,000 students, while several healthcare programs celebrated major milestones.
Among them, FSW’s Radiologic Technology program celebrated 24 graduates, with every graduate passing the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification exam on the first attempt.
FSW’s Emergency Medical Technician program also graduated 75 students, its largest summer graduating class in more than a decade. The college is adding another EMT cohort as it works to meet continued workforce demand.
Those numbers represent more than graduation milestones. They represent future nurses, EMTs, imaging professionals and other healthcare workers preparing to serve communities throughout Southwest Florida.
A strong talent pipeline is part of a strong business environment. Partnerships between education, employers and the community help ensure businesses can find the skilled workforce they need while giving residents pathways to meaningful careers.
Strong partners build strong talent pipelines, and strong talent pipelines help our region grow.
