Charlotte County continues to strengthen its aviation workforce pipeline with a new training facility designed to support high-demand technical careers.
Charlotte County’s aviation workforce pipeline reached a major milestone with the opening of Charlotte Technical College’s new Aviation Training Facility near Punta Gorda Airport.
Located in the Punta Gorda Airport, the new facility gives students direct access to hands-on training in one of the region’s fastest-growing industry sectors. The 19,420-square-foot facility includes a 10,000-square-foot hangar, classroom space, specialized labs, and industry-standard equipment designed to prepare students for aviation maintenance careers. The project was supported by $5.75 million in state funding secured during the 2022–2024 legislative sessions.
