Charlotte County Business Environment in Action

The Charlotte County business environment grows stronger when local companies connect with the people and organizations they serve.

That connection was on display during the Southwest Florida Rotary Club’s Business Expo & Blessings in a Backpack Drive at Oar & Iron in Babcock Ranch. The event brought local businesses, nonprofit organizations, volunteers, residents, and families together for an evening focused on both community service and meaningful business connections.

Local Businesses Connect With the Community

According to SWFL Rotary, 25 local businesses participated in the expo and showcased their products and services to hundreds of community members.

Families could meet business owners, discover local services, and take part in children’s activities, games, giveaways, raffles, and complimentary food. Meanwhile, participating companies gained an opportunity to build relationships with residents in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.

Events like this strengthen the Charlotte County business environment by helping companies become more visible and involved in the community.

Backpacks Create Direct Support

The evening also had a clear service mission.

Attendees were encouraged to donate new backpacks and school supplies for Southwest Florida students. SWFL Rotary reported that the Babcock Ranch location collected 162 backpacks, along with additional school supplies.

The donations will support students and youth-serving organizations, including Blessings in a Backpack, Babcock Ranch schools, Crossroads Hope Academy, Big Brothers Big Sisters and other regional partners.

Partnerships Make the Event Possible

The event received support from volunteers, Interact students, exhibitors, corporate sponsors and community partners.

Title sponsors included Oar & Iron, CDS Office Technologies, ThriveHR, Advanced Screen Services and Leland Bishop, Realtor.

Their participation showed what can happen when businesses contribute their time, resources and community connections to a shared purpose.

A Stronger Community Benefits Everyone

A thriving Charlotte County business environment involves more than transactions. It includes businesses that build trust, support families and participate in the life of the community.

By combining a business expo with a back-to-school donation drive, SWFL Rotary created an event that supported local companies while helping students begin the school year prepared to succeed.
