Sustainable business practices are moving from the drawing board into the real world at Babcock Ranch.
According to the Your Sun, Charlotte County community will anchor the new Southwest Florida Resilience Accelerator, a program designed to help companies develop and scale technologies for climate resilience, sustainable development and stronger infrastructure.
Powered by the Florida Council of 100, Babcock Ranch and eMerge Americas, the accelerator will connect selected companies with business leaders, investors, potential customers and industry partners across Florida.

Sustainable Business Practices Meet Real-World Conditions
Babcock Ranch gives participating companies something that many traditional accelerator programs cannot offer: a living community where new ideas may be evaluated alongside existing homes, businesses, infrastructure and natural systems.
The program will focus on technologies that address water, flooding, wind and other environmental challenges. It will also consider innovations involving drone inspections, artificial intelligence, resilient construction, building hardening, energy storage, leak detection and more efficient community planning.

A Launch Point for Resilience Companies
The inaugural cohort will include 10 selected companies. Participants will receive mentorship, introductions to strategic partners, assistance entering the Florida market and connections with investors.
However, the program is not limited to early ideas. Ambition Accelerated is designed for high-growth, enterprise-ready companies that are prepared to build partnerships, reach customers and scale their operations.

Applications for the 2026 Southwest Florida Resilience Accelerator are open through Aug. 21. The hybrid program will run from the week of Oct. 12 through the week of Dec. 7, with Thanksgiving week off.
