Punta Gorda Travelers Get a Free Allegiant Perk
Travelers flying Allegiant from Punta Gorda Airport can expect a new onboard perk beginning Aug. 1: complimentary soft drinks, juice and water.
Allegiant Travel Company announced July 29 that it will introduce free beverage service aboard all Allegiant flights beginning Aug. 1, 2026.
The airline’s announcement does not name Punta Gorda Airport or any other individual airport. However, Punta Gorda Airport lists Allegiant as an airline serving PGD. Because Allegiant states that the change will apply aboard all Allegiant flights, the new beverage service will include Allegiant-operated flights serving Punta Gorda.
What Will Be Complimentary?
According to Allegiant, passengers will be able to choose from complimentary soft drinks, juice and water.
Allways Rewards Visa cardholders will continue to receive additional complimentary options. Those choices may include coffee, protein shakes, sports drinks or an alcoholic beverage with a mixer, subject to the airline’s cardholder terms.
Allegiant Also Announces Premium Seating
Allegiant also introduced a new premium seating option called Allegiant First. The airline plans to begin phasing the service into select aircraft in spring 2027.
Aircraft equipped with Allegiant First will feature eight premium seats at the front of the cabin. The seats will offer additional legroom, a 37-inch pitch, five inches of recline, calf rests and adjustable headrests.
Allegiant First fares will also include priority check-in and boarding, one personal item, one carry-on bag and one checked bag weighing up to 70 pounds.
However, Allegiant has not announced which aircraft or routes will receive the premium seating. Therefore, Allegiant First should not be described as coming to Punta Gorda unless the airline or Punta Gorda Airport confirms it. Allegiant expects to release aircraft and route details later in 2026.
For residents, visitors and business travelers, the complimentary beverage service adds a small but welcome benefit to the convenience of flying from PGD.
