It has strengthened our determination to reach new heights of growth through innovative practices that attract and capture the attention of businesses, while educating, informing and enhancing healthy communities. We are very grateful to the IEDC for their recognition.”

The Charlotte County Economic Development Office (EDO) is a department within the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners. Its mission is to encourage the recruitment of diversified industry to the county, to create high skill, high wage jobs, and to help diversify the economy and tax base.

In fulfilling this mission, the EDO along with its marketing partner, Marketing Alliance, created a highly effective website and digital marketing campaigns that create interest in Charlotte County. In addition, the EDO’s website is continuously updated, providing current information about activity in the community.

"This year our judges reviewed some extraordinary projects that advanced both communities and businesses. We congratulate all the award winners, and thank everyone who nominated their projects for sharing their success with fellow IEDC members. What we learn from each other helps us to grow and advance as a profession. We look forward to even greater participation from economic developers across the globe in the 2019 awards program.” - Craig Richard, CEcD, FM, President and CEO, Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation located in Tampa, Florida, and 2018 IEDC Board Chair
