Charlotte County is expanding the pool of highly skilled talent for the dynamic aviation sector through Charlotte Technical College’s Aviation Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics (A&P) certification program.

Located at the CTC Aviation campus at the Punta Gorda Airport, CTC’s A&P program recruits the highest caliber students with leading instruction and cutting-edge equipment like a $2 million Pratt & Whitney PW6000 Turbofan engine. Graduates are prepared to take written, oral and practical exams for an FAA mechanic license with airframe and powerplant ratings. While the mechanic license is the aviation standard for technical expertise, it also opens career opportunities in many other sectors as well.

Also located at the Punta Gorda Airport, the AeroGuard Flight Training Center is a nationally recognized pilot training program that has found an ideal home in Charlotte County, where weather assures more optimal flying days.
