Murdock Village is strategically located adjacent to the Charlotte County Sports Park, the spring training facility of Baseball’s American League Tampa Bay Rays’.  In regular season, the Charlotte County Sports Park is home to the Charlotte Stone Crabs, with minor league baseball being played from April to August.  With the right developer, Ripken Baseball is ready to join this lineup and build the ultimate baseball lovers experience.
Charlotte County has been working with Ripken Baseball and has the groundwork completed for bringing the Ripken Experience to Murdock Village. The Feasibility Study details the advantages of Ripken Baseball in Charlotte County.

Ripken and Charlotte County are eager to build this baseball lovers destination. We are seeking developers interested in public/private partnership to create a new destination in Charlotte County.

Start with the baseball experience, scenic beaches, the beautiful Charlotte Harbor; add hotels, retail and restaurants, and this will become the ultimate vacation destination for the whole family.

Murdock Village Community Redevelopment Area is located within the Charlotte County Enterprise Zone and the CRA has the ability to negotiate additional incentives based on the capital investment of the private sector.

For more information on the program, please visit the Murdock Village web site or call the Economic Development Office at 941-764-4941.
