Charlotte Harbor CRA

In 1992, the Board of County Commissioners established the Charlotte Harbor Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) to develop a targeted approach to redeveloping the area through investment in public infrastructure while providing incentives to encourage private sector investment.

The Charlotte Harbor CRA consists of approximately 766 acres located in the southern part of Port Charlotte with direct access to the Peace River and the Charlotte Harbor National Estuary. The County’s main arterial roadway, US41, provides the major access to Charlotte Harbor with an average daily traffic count of 52,660. Interstate 75 is approximately two miles from the CRA boundary. Downtown Punta Gorda is within a one mile walk, bike ride, or car trip across the US41 Peace River bridge.

A number of properties are available both for residential and commercial development.

For more information on the Charlotte Harbor CRA please visit the Charlotte Harbor CRA web site or call the Economic Development Office at 941-764-4941.
