Disaster Assistance - Drought

USDA advised that 8 counties in Florida were designated as primary disaster areas due to drought: Charlotte, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Highlands, Okeechobee, Osceola, and Polk. Additional counties in the link below are listed as contiguous disaster counties.
The contiguous counties included under this designation are: Brevard, Hendry, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Lee, Manatee, Martin, Orange, Palm Beach, Pasco, St. Lucie, Sarasota, and Sumter.
This designation allows farmers in these areas to be considered for assistance from the Farm Service Agency, such as emergency loans.
Additional information on USDA’s disaster assistance program, including county lists and maps, can be found at http://disaster.fsa.usda.gov.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact USDA's Office of Congressional Relations at (202) 720-7095.
